Chiang Mai Thai House
Sustainability
This accommodation provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.
Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:
Energy Conservation, recycling and helping the community.
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
Chiang Mai Treehouse has introduced energy saving keycards, showing their commitment to minimise wastage of electricity, even though this is still a relatively new concept in Chiang Mai.
In addition to this, they utilise cloth bin liners which are washed and re-used rather than contributing to the increasing problem of waste plastic.
On the counter in reception Chiang Mai Treehouse has a collection box for local orphaned children, giving guests who have enjoyed their stay in Chiang Mai the chance to give a little something back.
