Golden Triangle and Hill Tribes

Day 1: Depart Chiang Mai in the early morning by 4x4 WD vehicle to Orchid Farm and a working Elephant camp. After the elephant show, take an elephant ride through the jungle followed by an ox-cart. Proceed to the river to take an exciting bamboo rafting adventure. A local lunch will be enjoyed before continuing by road to the Palong hill-tribe village. Dinner will be taken at the village followed by traditional dance and song presentations. Accommodation in a simple bamboo cottage / dormitory room.

Day 2: Breakfast in the village. Drive by 4X4WD to Chiang Dao Cave. Lunch. Visit various hill tribes i.e. Lisu and Akha, before driving to Doi Mae Salong to see the Chinese refugee village. Arrival in Chiang Rai in the late afternoon and transfer to the hotel.

Day 3:  Breakfast in the hotel. Visit the beautiful King's Mother Garden, then proceed to Mae Sai which is the northernmost part of Thailand.  Visit the infamous Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Laos and Burma meet together. Take a boat ride along the Mekong River to ancient Chiang Saen. Enjoy lunch before the end of the tour.
