Yaang Come Village Chiang Mai protected and preserved as much of the local environment during its development stage and in 2006 was awarded first place in the Big Tree Contest Chiang Mai Municipality. The award acknowledged Yaang Come Village's outdoor area and the preservation of a big tree (Yang India) and green areas on the compound.
